OET (Occupational English Test) is designed to meet the specific English language needs of the healthcare sector. It assesses the language proficiency of healthcare professionals who wish to practise in an English-speaking environment. All four language skills are assessed, with Writing and Speaking tests available in 12 different areas of healthcare. All candidates sit the same Reading and Listening tests.

OET is accepted as proof of English proficiency in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Namibia and Singapore for registration in 12 healthcare professions.

OET exam fees in India?

You can still take OET on paper if there is a venue offering paper-based testing near you. OET is now offered in three different delivery modes: OET on paper at a test venue – the test of choice for healthcare professionals for the past 30 years .he regulations state you can use pen or pencil for any part of the test APART from Reading parts B and C and Listening Parts B and C which are marked by a computer and MUST be completed with a 2B pencil. Not sure what a '2B' pencil is? 'B' is the measurement of blackness of the pencil lead.OET Writing Test is going to be challenging. You need to follow some basic rules. OET medicine is designed specifically for physicians: the ECFMG chose this test to determine if a candidate meets the minimum English skills required to practice medicine in the US.

The Listening sub-test consists of three parts, and a total of 42 question items. The topics are of generic healthcare interest and accessible to candidates across all professions. The total length of the Listening audio is about 40 minutes, including recorded speech and pauses to allow you time to write your answers.
